Once the sun comes up I can turn the lights off 30 minutes after sunrise in
accordance with TWRA, and the fish also turned off the Buzz Bait.
Let me switch to a Fluke it looks like a shad maybe I can fool the fish with a Fluke.
I like to hook it with just a hook no weight. That way when I jerk it, it moves like it is hurt and will go in
different direction, also I like to take a red marker and color the bottom of the white Fluke makes it look like it
is bleeding. Easy prey to a fish and they will eat it up....OOOPS let out another one of my secrets. Well this is
the ticket the very first cast along the grass edge tuned a Four pound Large Mouth Bass, Then a Three , Five looks
like I have got the ticket.
What a great morning, until the clouds rolled in and the fish turned off and it
was time to make a mad dash back to cover. When a storm comes up on Pick Wick you do not mess with Mother Nature ,
she take no pity on you when a storm hits and I do not make a good lighting rod.
What timing I have not more than I got back in the cabin than the bottom fell out of
the sky, and I mean the rain came down in buckets not drops. The wind as wild had to be 20 to 30 and was going to
watch the weather on TV but the lighting took care of that and knocked out all electricity. Last time I saw it like
this is when a bunch of us were down here and saw a tornado come down Indian Creek as it took out alot of trees
across from the cabin. This time it is just a bad storm, and I am glad I have the boat under that great cover that
J.P. Coleman offers and it will not get wet or harmed. Well while I am in the cabin I did learn a lesson today with
the wind the way it was, I was fighting the boat and the wind all morning so I guess it is time to get a " I pilot
Trolling Motor" for my boat so I can fish more and I can let the motor take care of driving. I get the computer out
and call up Bass Pro.
So I get the chat side of Bass Pro up and I have already picked out the I pilot
out that I want the one that deploys and lifts by itself and connects to my depth finder. I was on que with Steven
next and I explained to him what I was looking at and ask about the extended payment plan that Bass Pro has where
it can be paid off in six months which would fit my budget. With me being a disable military I could use that also
until Steven told me that would not Honor the Military Discount that only works in the store. I said O.K. I will go
to the store and get the motor there, then he told me I could not use the extended payment plan at the store only
online. Looks like the veterans strike out and Steven told me that is just the way Bass Pro does things and I got
that in writing. Wish there was another shop that veterans could shop other
than Bass Pro they act like you have to buy from them or go without. I guess I will go through Minn Kota direct.
Any way Mother Nature has thrown me a curve and has come up with freezing temps
and snow in the forecast so I guess that is my fall fishing trip time to load the boat up and put it up for the
winter and head to Cordova TN.
It has been fun and will be at it again this spring.
