Teach A Kid To Fish
This past weekend I was able to get out of the house and take a kid fishing along
with his dad.
They met me at the house about 9:30am, and I could see that Carson (11) had ants
in his pants and was just itching to catch some fish. I assured his Dad that this would happen today. I think he
might of had some doubts about that...but I knew that would soon change.
We arrive at the lake about 9:50am and got the boat in the water and it only took
Carson's Dad two cast and he had a bass on. It was shortly after that I heard this funny noise and it was Carson
with a fish on, but it got off so we went back through bass fishing101 about setting the hook and start reeling the
fish in and do not allow any slack in the line to give the bass a chance to spit the bait out.
As you can see with the pictures he caught on fast and in no time was catching the
fish like a pro.

Teach A Kid To Fish
I am sure Carson and his Dad both had a day to remember and plenty of pictures. I
explained that these days don't come out every trip out but this special lake I knew before we got there that we
were going to catch a bunch.
I think we ended up with catching about fifty fish that day and both Carson and
his Dad almost got two fiver pounders but at least they got to see them before they swam away.
We were using Spinner Baits, Rattle Traps, and the Kickerfish Bait
Company Explodin Toad and went through three packages that I
had.
The frogs were the trick after lunch and it was something for Carson to see the
Bass explode on topwater baits, I think that is where I was getting that funny noise like example: "oh oh oh oh
oh". I heard that alot that Saturday.
When we arrive back at my house Carson came up to me and said something to the
fact that he wanted to do this again next weekend, I might have created a monster.
Got to admit the look on Carson face is all the thanks I needed and I know that he
will respect the bass and release them and take care of Mother Nature so he will grow up and teach his kids, at
least he had some fish stories to tell back at school in fact he might even be calling himself KVD JR.
Don't forget the kids this summer. They will enjoy the outing more than you will
ever know and will carry the trip throughout their life.
Keep The Hooks Wet!
