Week End Fishing Trip
All the food, dishes, clothes, B-B-Q grill and spirits for the night time packed.
Truck, Boat full of gas, all of the tackle and rods & reels in the boat.
It's is off to the lake with a planned stop to meet my fishing buddy at
the Mississippi State Line who will follow me on up to the lake.
Time to sit back and relax, the trip will take about a hour and half. While
driving, I always start to think about something that I might have left or left off my check list.
It seems the older you get the more you forget that is why I always start six
months ahead planning for our trip in October for the week, but this being just for a week end trip three months is
good enough.
Back to the driving to the lake, enjoy all the sites of nature in full bloom and
the animals running around. Keep an extra eye open for Deer that might dart out in front of you thinking the grass
is greener on the other side.
Arrived at the State Line and my buddy was there tapping his foot on the ground,
hands on his hips so I guess that means he is ready to go and tired of waiting on me. I always try to leave earlier
than what I tell him so it would be me waiting, but not this time.
Off we go, both of us pulling boats so if something happens to one of the Boats,
we have a back up and will not stop of us from fishing. Some how the trip to the lake seems to take forever to get
there. We always stop just before we arrive at the lake to fill up the trucks with gas, not to mention if I thought
of anything that I forgot.
Hey, we are finally here and time to unload the trucks and get everything in the
cabin. Have to get the Ice chest emptied, food in the frig, bread, chips and snacks on top of frig. Now for the
clothes in the bedrooms and get that all set up. I always bring clothes hanger to hang clothes and enough to leave
after we are gone. I know the next folks would appreciate that.
It's Fishing Time!
