Usually before I leave the house in Memphis, I buy Tupperware tubs and divide dry food and other kitchen items. Everything else is furnished. Most of the food I bought in Memphis before the trip, I always make up a menu to try and go by. The food is in the cooler and is divided to the frig and everything else is put up. I don't need to rush and wear myself out. I count on the fish to do that later on. It's O.K. even if I do not get out today I still will be able to get out early in the morning. I will not have to worry about making my bed or have or making dinner, or have all my cloths to put up.

Ok, now outside to seperate the rods and reels and ensure the first poles are already rigged up with what I think they will want thinking from last year.  I can not tell you how lucky I am to have written so many articles about my fishing trips it is like a cheat sheet if the fish act the same way they did last year. This is where I make the point to all the anglers about making notes about your fishing trips or read my articles about my fishing trip that might help you.  Count on the fish wanting the same thing or they have seen the same lures about a thousand times since last year. The fish may still want the same thing. A good example is the (sexy shad). If you can get a fish to hit one at Pick Wick, you will be lucky.

I do have my go to lures ( IF ) the grass is up will have a Scum Frog tied on, Spinner Bait, and Jerk Bait for a Smallie. It is like I always say listen to what the fish tell you most of the time they will let you know what they want, how they want it and how fast. I have a Whopper Popper that is a Top Water lure that drives the fish crazy if they are in the mood and of course the old Buzz Bait.

Well all the preps are done and I am wore out, lets have a break, sit down on the porch, drink a bottle of water. It is 4 in the afternoon and by the time I get the boat in the water and it gets dark early now. It would do me just as well as to go back inside and doctor the steaks and fix the salad, and put the baked potato in the oven. Did I forget to say that I eat like a KING while I am at the lake.
